Leadership Coaching, Amy Durgin, PhD
Philosophy & Approach
Depending on the situation and need, I tend to pull from the following disciplines: systems thinking, human-centered design, leadership development philosophy, organizational design, strategy execution, leader-led change management, behavioral science, cognitive behavior therapy, mindfulness, and adult learning theory.
01
How I Work
Identify Desired Impact on the Business
Regardless of the support, I begin by understanding the impact on the business you want to create. Don't worry if you're not sure. I will work with you to clarify, prioritize and/or operationally define this into measurable terms. As a former behavioral scientist, I consider operationally defining "anything" part of my secret sauce.
03
Create a Plan & Measure
Depending on the type of behavior change (skill acquisition or habit change), we'll develop a plan to facilitate acquisition and sustainability. This plan will include measuring both changes in behavior and impact on the business. In many cases, this will involve stakeholders for feedback and validating the impact.
02
Identify the Behavior Change
Whether this is through a 360 assessment or a team exercise to identify the past and future behavior (e.g., decision making, communication/collaboration , or accountability practices), we'll get as specific as needed for the situation.
